Stories of the Prophets, animated
The prophets are the people Allah chose to carry His message to humanity. Their stories are told in the Quran and in the hadith, and Qabas Anime brings them to the screen as short animated films, free for everyone.
On this page you will find every Qabas Anime episode about a prophet, grouped by prophet. Each episode has its own page with the full film, the verses or the hadith it comes from, a simple explanation, the lessons of the story and a few questions to think about.
You do not need to know anything about Islam to follow these stories. We tell them in everyday words, and when an Arabic word is needed, we explain it.

Who are the prophets in Islam?
In Islam, a prophet is a person Allah chose to receive His message and to teach it to people. Muslims believe that Allah sent many prophets, to many peoples, over a very long time. The Quran names twenty-five of them. Many of these names are also known from the Bible, such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David, Solomon and Jesus, called in Arabic Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Yusuf, Dawud, Sulayman and Isa (peace be upon them).
Muslims believe that all the prophets brought the same basic message: Allah is One, and He alone deserves to be worshipped, and people should live with honesty, kindness and justice. The last prophet is Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Where the stories come from
The stories of the prophets come from two sources. The first is the Quran, the holy book of Islam, which tells many of their stories, sometimes in a whole chapter, like the story of Yusuf. The second is the hadith: reports of what the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, collected by scholars in books such as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
Every episode page names its sources: the chapter and verse numbers of the Quran, or the collection and number of the hadith, with a link to read the text in Arabic and in translation. When an episode adds details from the classical explanations of the Quran, the page says which scholars they come from.
How we show the prophets
Out of respect, our films never show the face of a prophet. Muslims show deep respect to the prophets and avoid showing their faces in pictures. The story is carried by the narration, the other characters, the places and the light, so you can follow everything that happens without seeing their face.
In our texts you will often see a prophet's name followed by a short blessing, such as "(peace be upon him)". Muslims say these words out of love and respect.
What these stories teach
The stories of the prophets are not only history. They show people facing jealousy, injustice, fear and loss, and they show how patience, honesty and trust in Allah carry them through. Yusuf is betrayed by his own brothers and still forgives them. The people of Musa ask question after question instead of simply obeying, and the story shows where that leads.
These are stories that adults, young people and children can watch together and talk about. Each episode page ends with a few questions that help start that conversation.
