These terms apply to the use of myqabas.com, run by Qabas, a free, non-profit project that teaches Islam through animated stories. By using the site you accept them.
The service
Qabas offers animated episodes with the original Arabic text, published translations, sources, explanations and reflection questions, free of charge, without ads and without an account.
We may change, add or remove content and features, and we may pause the service, for example for maintenance.
Religious content
Every episode names its sources and links to them. Quran and hadith translations are published translations credited to their translators; where none matches a narration, our own translation from the Arabic is marked as such.
The site is for learning and reflection. It is not a fatwa or a personal religious ruling: for questions of practice, please ask a qualified scholar.
If you find a mistake, please use Report under the episode. We check every report.
Using the content
The episodes, texts, design and logo of Qabas belong to their owners and are protected by copyright. Quoted translations belong to their translators and publishers.
You may watch, share links to and download the share videos we offer, and share them for non-commercial purposes, unchanged and with their branding. Any other copying, editing, resale or use for profit needs our written permission.
Accounts and comments (when available)
Signing in with Google is only needed to comment. You are responsible for what you write.
Comments must be respectful and on topic. We do not publish insults, hate speech, harassment, spam, advertising, personal data of others, content that infringes rights, or anything unlawful. Every comment is checked before it appears, and we may refuse or remove comments and close accounts that break these rules.
By posting a comment you allow us to show it on the site, free of charge, for as long as it is online. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Fair use
Please do not try to disrupt the site, get around its limits, collect data automatically in bulk, or use likes and reports in bad faith.
Liability
We prepare every episode with care, but we cannot guarantee that the site is always available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damages arising from the use of the site, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. Links to other websites are provided for reference; we are not responsible for their content.
